MAYA FOR PRODUCT DESIGN

SOFTWARE PACKAGE: AUTODESK MAYA

3D IN BRAND DESIGN

FROM MODELING TO RENDERING

While the main focus of my professional career after college revolved around brand design and creating packaging for large consumer brands, my time at Ringling studying 3D animation has been a constant benefit in dealing with clients bringing products to market.
The ability to offer photo-realistic and high-resolution product images for items that are either impractical to bring to the studio (like this pallet of steel canister boxes for a culinary gas client) or products that don’t even exist yet has been pivotal in the success of countless projects.

Ringling Senior Thesis

The Layover

A 3D SHORT FILM - 2008

The final project at Ringling College of Art & Design for 3D animation students is a senior thesis that spans the entirety of the final year of the program and made use of Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop, Premiere, and Shake.

We were tasked with creating a 2-3 minute short film. From concept, to design, to modeling, texturing, rigging, lighting, animating, rendering, and editing with sound. Add in learning a new rigging process and this project was quite the endeavor.
